Construction of National Road No. 10 Achieves 88.38% Completion, Tallest Bridge Reaches 43.50%

Phnom Penh: The ambitious construction project of National Road No. 10, spanning a total length of 198.218 kilometers, has reached an overall completion rate of 88.38% as of the end of June 2024.

This significant infrastructure project stretches from National Road 57-7 at PK35+900 in Kanchang village, Song commune, Samlot district, Battambang province, passing through Bramoy commune, Veal Veng district, Pursat province, and continuing to National Road 48 (old) at PK1+700 in Sangkat Smach Meanchey, Khemarak Phoumin, Koh Kong province.

The progress includes 80.26% of the road work and 93.23% of the bridge work. Notably, the tallest bridge in the project, standing at 530 meters, has achieved 43.50% completion and is scheduled to be finished by the end of March 2025. Additionally, drainage work across the road is nearly complete at 99.82%, and the drainage work along the road and retaining wall has reached 89.84% completion.

During the current rainy season, National Road No. 10 remains accessible, though caution is advised as some sections of the road are still surfaced with red gravel and can become slippery when wet.

It is important to note that National Road No. 10 is designed as a Grade III two-layer paved road (DBST) with a total length of 198.518 kilometers and a width of 9 meters. The construction project, which began on December 18, 2019, is planned to be completed over a period of 66 months, with an expected completion date in June 2025.
